The power of Gizmo is great...Read Now
Gizmo is our cat. He comes out almost every morning to help with the chores and loves hanging out with us and the dogs. Apparently, as much as I need good Border Collies to help out around the farm, things can't be done properly without the supervision of a good cat!

Will and Gyp both went in for their OFA hip x-rays today. Hips look great on both of them. Will was awesome and we only needed to take one x-ray. Gyp was her usual happy, wiggly self and after the fourth attempt, I decided that we would send in the best x-ray as I didn't see the point in sedating her to make the x-ray look "better" when it was obvious that her hips were very good. Have sent them off to OFA and should get official results in a few weeks. Nice to know that they will both be good sound working dogs.
This is video of Meg, a dog I raised, trained and sold this summer. She is 22 months old in the video. This was recorded at the Canadian Nursery Championship. The sheep were challenging, and the course was tricky. Meg finished up mid-pack. Considering her age and experience level, I was very pleased with how she did.
Gyp has been back home for one week. I sold at about 16 months as a started dog. Her owner wound up not trialling or working her as she had originally planned, so I bought her back and put her to work. She's thrilled to be put back to work, and I'm pleased to have her here. I've been taking her to sheep daily and am very pleased with her progress after such a long time without work. As long as this good weather holds, I'll continue to work her.
Crazy dog lady from way back when.
