Welcome to Landing Trail Stock Dogs. Our farm is nestled in the Tawatinaw Valley along the last original stretch of the historic Athabasca Landing Trail, just an hour and a half north of Edmonton Alberta, Canada.
Our dogs are a blend of top North American and British lines. They are hard working partners, compete at the highest level, and are a very big part of our family.

I've spent over 30 years as a professional dog trainer, helping people to solve problems and build great relationships with their dogs. Now, I'm working on a new project. I want to help you and your dog start on your herding journey with your stock dog. I remember how steep the learning curve was. Like you, I'm STILL learning every day when I work together with my dogs at home on the farm, or out on the trial field. Join me at iherd.ca - let's work together to develop great working partners!

In the late 1800s Athabasca Landing was established at the elbow of the Athabasca river where it sweeps south and reaches within 100 miles of Edmonton. Between the years 1880 and 1914, Athabasca Landing, as the town of Athabasca was then called, was known as the "Gateway to the north", a jumping off point for travellers to the Peace River Country and for traders heading north on the Athabasca to the arctic. Athabasca Landing gained the national stage by 1900 - as the key transportation center linking the Hudson's Bay Company and other independent traders to Canada's northwest and the Arctic. The Landing Trail, one of Alberta's oldest highways, linked Fort Edmonton and the young city fo Edmonton to Athabasca Landing and the Athabasca River
